Read before you interpret.
A candle summarizes a time interval using its opening, highest, lowest, and closing prices. Its body runs between the open and close. The remaining range is shown by the wicks.
Example: Open 1.1000 · High 1.1030 · Low 1.0990 · Close 1.1020.
The close is above the open. The body spans 0.0020, and the full high-to-low range spans 0.0040. These four values alone do not tell you which price will come next.
Practice: how long is the upper wick?
The upper wick runs from 1.1020 to 1.1030, a difference of 0.0010. This uses the higher of the open and close as the top of the body.
